Osmania University is conducting TS Ed-CET 2020.  The Entrance Test will be conducted on 01-10-2020 Afternoon From 03.00 Pm to 5.00 Pm and on 03-10-2020 Morning from 10.00 am to  12.00 noon and afternoon 03.00 pm to 05.00 pm . The Candidate those who are registered  for TS Ed.CET-2020 can download their hall tickets from https://edcet.tsche.ac.in/ from 21-09-2020 to till the date of examinations by entering their registered mobile numbers and Date Of Birth.

State Education Common Entrance Through Computer Based Test (CBT)

A Common Entrance Test, designated as Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test-2020 (TS Ed.CET-2020) will be conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education for admission in to B.Ed (Two years) Regular Course in the Colleges of Education in Telangana State for the academic year 2020-2022.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO APPEAR FOR Ed.CET 2020 
Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for TS Ed.CET-2020 (CBT) for admission to 2-year B.Ed Course. 
  • The candidate should be of Indian Nationality. The candidate should satisfy ‘local’ / ‘non- local’ Status requirements as laid down in the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974, as subsequently amended.
  •  Educational Qualifications : Candidates should have passed or appeared for qualifying examination 
(a) In any Bachelors Degree i.e., B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Sc (Home Science), BCA, BBM/BBA or in the Masters Degree, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
(b) Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with Specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% aggregate marks or 
(c) Any other qualification equivalent thereto.
(d) However, for candidates belonging to the reserved categories Viz., SC/ ST/ BC and other reserved categories should have secured 40% Marks in the qualifying examination. 
(e) Candidates possessing MBBS/ BSC (AG) / BVSC/ BHMT/ B.Pharm and such other professional and job oriented degree courses Viz., LLB are not eligible for admission into B.Ed Course. 
(f) Candidates possessing a Master Degree without having undertaken undergraduate study are not eligible for admission. 
(g) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for TS Ed.CET-2020. 
  • Age limit: 
1. The candidate should have completed the age of 19 years as on 1st July of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit. 

2. Choosing of Part-C subjects (i.e. .methodology) for entrance test is at candidate’s risk. Subject eligibility will be subject to verification later at the time of admission counseling. 
3. Candidates need not upload Xerox copies of any certificates along with the application. However, they are required to submit original certificates / xerox copies whenever asked. 
4. The information furnished in the application will be verified with originals at the time of entry into the course. Furnishing false information leads to prosecution and cancellation of admission at any point of time. 
5. The mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not entitle the candidate the right to claim an entry into B.Ed. Course. 
6. Candidate must submit the application online only. 
7. Note: As per the GO MS No:13 dated. 27/5/2017, the candidates possessing M.B.B.S/B.SC(AG))/ BVSC/BHMT/B.Pharm and such other professional and job oriented degree courses viz., LL.B are not eligible for admission into B.Ed course. 
8. Candidates will not be allowed into the Examination Hall after Commencement of exam on the day of the Examination. 
9. After filling all the boxes in the online application, the candidate must click on the submit button. Otherwise Registration number will not be generated and hence application will not be considered.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION FOR TS Ed.CET-2020 
The common entrance test will be of objective type(multiple choice) examination. Candidate has to answer 150 questions in two hours time. 
 Part-A: General English – 25 questions for 25 marks 
 Part-B: 1) General Knowledge –15 questions for 15 marks 
             2) Teaching Aptitude –10 questions for 10 marks 
Part-C: Methodology: Candidate has to choose one of the following subjects. 
It consists of 100 Questions for 100 marks. 
1) Mathematics –100 questions for 100 marks 
2) Physical Sciences –100 questions for 100 marks 
 (i) Physics –50 questions for 50 marks 
 (ii) Chemistry –50 questions for 50 marks 
3) Biological Sciences –100 questions for 100 marks (
  i) Botany –50 questions for 50 marks 
 (ii) Zoology –50 questions for 50 marks 
4) Social Studies –100 questions for 100 marks (
  i) Geography –35 questions for 35 marks 
 (ii) History –30 questions for 30 marks 
 (iii) Civics –15 questions for 15 marks 
 (iv) Economics –20 questions for 20 marks 
5) English –100 questions for 100 marks 
Note: Part-A and Part-B are common for all the candidates irrespective of Methodology chosen in Part-C 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE CHOICE OF SUBJECT UNDER PART-C
  • METHODOLOGY:Mathematics

ELIGIBILITY:Candidate with B.A./B.Sc/B.E/B.Tech of the subjects or B.C.A candidates with mathematics at intermediate level as a group subject.

  • METHODOLOGY:Physical Sciences

ELIGIBILITY:Candidates with B.Sc/B.E/B.Tech who have studied Physics and Chemistry or Allied Material Sciences as one of the subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at intermediate level as group subject.

  • METHODOLOGY:Biological Sciences

ELIGIBILITY:Candidates with B.Sc./B.Sc.(Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or Allied Life Sciences under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at Intermediate level as group subject.

  • METHODOLOGY:Social Studies

ELIGIBILITY:All candidates with B.A./B.Com./B.B.M/BBA.or B.C.A. candidates with Social Sciences at intermediate level as group subject.

  • METHODOLOGY:English 

ELIGIBILITY:Candidates with B.A Special English/ B.A. English literature or M.A. English.

SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATIONS
Applications should be submitted through ONLINE mode only. The Registration fee for online submission and late fee, if applicable, may be paid at APOnline /TSOnline Centers and also through payment gateway (Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net Banking). 
ONLINE APPLICATION FEE : 650/- 
                                                     450/- in case of SC/ST Candidates.
REGIONAL TEST CENTERS 
The TS Ed.CET-2020 examination will be held at the following 16 Regional Online Test Centers in Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh.

MEDIUM OF ENTRANCE TEST 
The question paper will be in English, Telugu and Urdu except for English methodology. 
QUALIFYING MARKS: 
The qualifying marks in the Entrance Test for all candidates (except SC/ST) is 38 out of total marks (i.e.25%).For the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities there will be no qualifying marks for ranking. 
RESULTS: RANKING: 
Candidates will be ranked in each methodology in the order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in TS Ed.CET-2020 through online examination. Where there is a tie in total marks, Part-C marks will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. In case of further tie, the marks obtained in Part-A will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. In case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the parts of the test paper, they shall be bracketed for the purpose of a ward of rank. At the time of admission into the course, age shall be taken into consideration for relative ranking among the bracketed candidates and the older candidates shall be given priority. The rank obtained in TS Ed.CET-2020 is valid for entry into B.Ed course for the academic year 2020-21 only. Note: Request for re-totaling or revaluation or personal identification of scripts will not be entertained.

SYLLABUS 
Syllabus for the subjects under Part-A, Part-B and Part-C of the Education Common EntranceTest-2020. 
PART-A: GENERAL ENGLISH 
1. Reading Comprehension. 
2. Correction of Sentences, Articles, Prepositions, Tenses, Spelling, Voice. 
3. Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms. 
4. Transformation of Sentences- Simple, Compound and Complex. Direct Speech and Indirect Speech. 
PART-B: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & TEACHING APTITUDE 
1. Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate‟s general knowledge of the environment around him and its application to society. 
2. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific outlook as is expected of an educated person. 3. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring Countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Ecology, Economics, General Policy and Scientific Research. 
4. Teaching requires certain characteristics like ability to communicate, ability to deal with Children, ability to recognizing individual differences etc., a part from analytical thinking and general intelligence .One who has these characteristics will be able to become a good teacher after training. Questions relating to these aspects will be included to test ones teaching aptitude.

PART-C: One of the following subjects to be opted: 
1. Mathematics (MS) 
2. Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry)(PS) 
3. Biological Sciences (Botany and Zoology) (BS) 
4. Social Studies (Geography, History, Civics and Economics) (SS) (For these four subjects Syllabus shall be of graduation level (revised common core degree syllabus) 
5. English [Special English in B.A.]
